My name is Dan, and I'm running for South Dakota State Senate. I'm 49 years old, and I live in Burke with my wife Anna (Kerner) and our three daughters, Sophie (5), Elizabeth (4) and Anna (1).

I work as an independent IT-contractor, mainly designing and maintaining SQL Server databases for larger corporations. My wife is an immigration attorney.

I was born in Sweden, and have lived and worked in many places, including France, Ireland, England, Russia and South Africa. I met Anna in London in 2013, and in 2014 we moved to the US to live in Burke, South Dakota -- Anna's hometown.

I am running for the South Dakota Senate so that I can address the issues affecting real people in our communities -- our solid, hard-working, down-to-earth citizens. I am a firm believer that it is possible to achieve a society where everyone has a fair chance to succeed. South Dakota deserves leadership that fights to make those ideas into reality.
